The Lure Of The City - digital crosshatched version
Thought i'd be through with the next commission...drat...so...More filler, er, so to speak....This is the digital crosshated version of this pic:

Sort of creepy....Brings up what the BOTR series of pics was about - the sense that being out there on your own can be frightening - there are thugs, rapists, murders....real monsters. But you can also drive yourself crazy thinking everyones like that. You have to find a balance..."street smarts" as it were....
Cuz it's my world nothing bad happens to these bunnies - the person in that ominous 50's car turns out to be nice - they become friends, roommates in the city...., etc etc....
The city itself is also set as too big, threatening - the sign says "Stop" - go back...She's packed in a hurry....maybe what she's getting away from is worse, or just not where she become who she wants to be...
Another side of the BOTR series is the sort of Damsel In Distress thingy....lots of us are brought-up with sort of wish to help, be a knight-in-shining-armor, male or female....This is set in '50s, so....

i think what i wanted to do in the Bunnies By The Side Of The Road series was to show these girls braving potentially dangerous situations - where fears might be rational or irrational - but they sort of trust their wits that they can survive...see the difference between real threats from paranoia...etc....That's part of all our growing-up....sort of like "Catcher In The Rye"....too bad Salinger didn't write furry comix....(heee!)
