So here he is! Mattie the Rattie, who I have toiled and lost sleep over for the past several weeks (just like having a baby!). He debuted at Furnal Equinox in Toronto this past weekend, and I really enjoyed this fursuiting/mascot experience. I got to walk around and attend the Saturday night dance for an hour or so, then dressed up as him Sunday for these professional con photos, which turned out very nicely!
Besides furry cons, Mattie and I will be trying our hand at public charity events with other mascot types through Hi4 Entertainment. It should be an interesting experience, as to be honest I often feel quite lost in a crowd, and being in costume will ground me and give me purpose (heh).

Mattie is an outdoors sort of rat, the costume is good for running around and getting messy and muddy! If he goes super crazy that is!
I think a second version of Tony the Toy would work better with the shiny concept. Pink latex outfit polished to an impossible shine, oh yeah!

I am not the best body type for him, and contributed to his creepiness. Now a smaller more innocent looking pink mouse, that should work better!
Even if it was spandex based instead of latex/PVC he would work out very nicely! And then I could dress up as myself or some other terrible monster and torment the poor toy! (teeheehee)

A quick stop to Home Depot for ideas on a good and proper tail support, and I should have that done by week's end. The paws won't take much longer, and in the summer months I am looking into getting him some short overalls to show off his newly hirsute legs. The fuzzier and cuddlier, the better!

Thank you! And yes, I wanted something that bridged the gap between a fursuit and a character out of a silly/crazy live action children's show. Once I complete David the Rat's revisions, I have a couple of other rat characters to work on for a strange show idea I want to realize. There will be rats everywhere!
By the way, while I was up at FE I saw a lion suit that from a distance looked like a cross between Obie and your Vanny dog persona. Sculpted muscles, painted on abs, large head and paws. On closer look it was a lion, but I was reminded of your work on seeing it!
