Here's a couple of suggestions, put a rod inside your tail so it wouldn't be all floppy and it could be bendable.
Or get velcro and stick one onto your tail and the other onto the back of your shirt

I don't think I'd be able to do the rod trick since that'd mean taking the tail apart and sewing it back together. But the velcro thing might work.

Well, I have to give Reep credit because he actually lost his tail for a time and had to accept the possibility of not getting it back. So I think he cherishes his tail and regards it with a very special dignity. I can't quite say that!
