M1A1 Thompson Sub-Machine gun, .45 ACP. Dangerous weapon, but somewhat difficult to reload and slightly prone to accidental magazine dislodges. The stock seems to be missing...could I be wrong?

never heard about accidental mag dislodging. possible operater error and the stock can be removed on the thompson

Thing is, they made it so that the magazine had to slide into the trigger guard to help guide the magazine into the magazine well. If the magazine gets bumped against something hard enough, like when the soldier swings the gun over cover or dives to the deck, the magazine sometimes dislodges. It is not the most frequent event, but it happens.

...Why no stock? I guess you're an urban assault trooper. The only reason I can see why someone would lose the stock on a recoil-heavy SMG like the Thompson would be to reduce the weight and help mobility around corners.
