This is a weapon idea I had for one of my characters. Essentially it's a cane that can shift, twist and reveal a host of hidden functions from winding into a single ring for easy tucking away (or clipping into a belt loop) to unsheathing a sword, to swinging out a grappling hook to extending a set of energy conduits to generate an umbrella-shaped shield (to name a few).
