More retro goodness! Well you guys might or might not (I really didn't know because for 1: I wasn't born yet, 2: I'm suprised it didn't come on Cartoon Network in it's early days) Of The Ghostbusters, Filmation's Ghostbusters, based off an old tv show from the '70's. Ahh, Tracy... I haven't really known about him until I was browsing through galleries of
ramsey276 (when I was just beginning on FA) and months later on
brucebadger 's gallery. I totally forgot until one day I was browsing Youtube and came across the Filmation's Ghostbusters cartoon opening, I got kinda tingly all over when I saw Tracy. I already knew that there was a DVD out, but I downloaded a torrent of the cartoons, and watched them in private. There's something about old cartoons that have an appealing quality to them, better than the trash that comes on TV these days! Tracy's awesome! But there's something I don't get, If he was so smart, why couldn't he talk much? I guess I got hooked onto another character. Well enjoy! Tell me if you like the picture! Good Ol' memories for you, Good new memories for me to cherish.

There is one DVD coming out, SEASON 2, the CARTOON was a riot and it looks somewhat cheesy if you look at it today, just LIKE HE-MAN and the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and MANY other FILMATION GREATS. but it did NOT come out in the 70's more around the 80's and 90's to go up against THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS, Too bad it FAILED and the cartoon was short lived... TRACY too was my all time FAVORITE character on the show and i have most of the ACTION FIGURES made for that show.
you are INDEED truly and inspired artist Konana, And I'm very proud of you doing a GREAT JOB and your HANDS and FEET are getting MUCH BETTER... I hope someday we both will meet.

The problem there, and I don't mean any offense was that Filmation was trying to jump on the Columbia/Tristar movie's popularty. I think had there not have been a movie, there probably wouldn't have been a Filmation cartoon.
That, and I think alot of movie fans were not to happy about there being two different versions and all.

I know that the CARTOON didn't come out in the 70's, I was referring to the live action TV show: "The Ghost Busters" in the 70's which the cartoon is based and spun off of. Also, thank you very much! I didn't really know I got better at hands and feet, I thought they looked the same the way I drew them. Thank you!
That is one great job Konanarillah. As soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew who it was. The one you have here is the son of the first Tracy who was a black fur gorilla who wore only a small bennie on his head. So this Tracy is as smart as his dad if not more so. And they both could talk just in gorilla. The humans didtn't seem to have a hard time knowing what they were trying to say and besides had they talk like humans, the show would had looked like they were ripping off Planet Of The Apes. Nonetheless, you did a great job my friend.
maybe, but personally I never liked the animation, and the stories were pretty lame. It had that issue that many 80's cartoons had that at the end they teach a stupid, nobodyaskedforit lesson while The "Real Ghostbusters" had great written stories with a nice mix of folklore, comedy, drama and grimmess...until they made the lame slimer cartoons x_X
...even when I was a kid, I could never accept this gorilla was a girl, and I still can't! Far as I'm concerned with all the grunt sound affects they had going on with him, he was a guy who was just with a bunch of bozos who either A. couldn't accept he was a guy for fear of getting humped at night, or B. were too slow witted to realize he was a guy...
Trumans a guy...yes, that shall be his name now 'truman'...I actually have the action figure they did of 'him way back then, it's really cute, more figure then actual action though.
Great pic though, brings back many happy, if not frustrating memories.

Thank you Da_Boz! Actually the name Tracy is a unisex name meaning that the name is acceptable for both genders. You probably confused his name for a girls name, but it's a name for both genders, Angel, or Sam. So don't worry about Truman's uh... Tracy's name.
Great picture! I remember those wonderful 80s cartoons, and I saw both Filmation's and the Real Ghostbusters. While I did like the Real Ghostbusters more (before the shark-jumping Slimer episodes), Tracy & Co. weren't too far behind.
And I agree with you about the 80s and early 90s cartoons are better than today's cartoons. Barring exceptions like Ed, Edd 'n Eddy for me, most of them suck and their animation style isn't really appealing to me. Give me the old classics any day, warts and all.
