I finally got it finished! It measures 14 inches across, and has a custom made harness. I'd show a picture of me wearing it but, the photos didn't turn out so well. ^^'
Im so happy to have it finished, let me tell ya it was a lot harder to make than i thought it would be. I dub it the "green donut"
Things i used to make this:
Half inch foam
Glue gun/hot glue
Fabricated plastic washers
Fabricated plastic plates (for the straps durability)
Metal washers
Screws
Wooden cabinet knobs
Acrylic paint
Clear spray gloss
Fleece
Needle/thread
Nylon straps
Parachute buckles
Polyfil
Whatever fabric the "fire" is
And lots of my time

This is my person shield for my okami cosplay, however i can make another. It wont be cheap though, there was an immense amount of work put into it, making it very durable. ^^'
He he, believe it or not the whole thing was carefully thought out, everything from keeping the foam (mirror side) structurally sound so the nylon straps wouldn't tear at it, to getting the knobs to be stiff enough without flopping about.
