Friday uses one for the first time.
My painting isn't great but I welcome some critique in many areas. I just thought flat painting was getting boring.

You have the shading right, but I would suggest perhaps using a smaller brush to rough up the edges of your highlights and shadows on Friday's shoulders. That way, it will better suggest the texture of rabbit fur. Right now, it looks a bit too smooth, and the effect comes off as more of a bezel.
Your colors are always so vibrant, not to mention your lively line work, and those clouds in the background are gorgeous. It's still a really pretty, eye catching piece.

nothing wrong with flat shading, and is a good starting point to learn basic shadow casting and how light moves over a surface.
Since you feel you can move on from it, try moving into combining hard edge and soft edge shadows depending on the surface. Also painting over your outlines as well could be something else to try.
It may not turn out the best the first time, you just have to keep experimenting with it to find out what you like, and what you want to achieve.
Keep up the good work!
