Poor Theta, I put him through so much :\
This sublime work is by
zobobafoo, when she was still on FA.
You can still find her here though: zobobafoozie tumblr
Check it out, she has one of the cutest art styles in existence!
As is quite often the case, this was inspired by a piece of music, this time it's Caravan by Blur, off their Think Tank album.
I consider it one of the best albums of all time, filled with atmospheric, melancholic tracks that comfort the psyche.
Nearly all of the songs evoke some vision in my head, and it's a relief to finally have a concrete version of one of those images that I can share with everyone.
So this is my attempt to convey what I see when listening to that track: endless expanses of desert sand with the spectacular colours of sunset fading into the darkness of the night and the stars.
And a feeling that despite all the good times, the laughter and happiness, we can still feel lost amongst spectacular beauty.
I felt lost recently, I got my first full-time job and I'm not sure it will be the best for me in the long term, even if it felt like the right decision at the time (and up to this point, I still have no definite regrets).
And I have the usual existential problems of being unsure of who I am and what I want to do with my life.
I've been focusing on the short-term as I see it as more knowable and decidable than the long-term but I worry that I'm missing out on something truly amazing in the future for the sake of short-term comfort.
I have faith (but not necessarily confidence) that I'll sort that out eventually, and somehow discover and integrate my long-term plans into my worldview.
In the meantime I'll just have to trust in my decisions, even if I question them.
And at least I have some beautiful art to lighten the days, help guide me and remind me of how I really felt when I look back at this time when I'm older.
I hope you find this work as magnificent as I do, even if you don't go for the whole soul-searching thing

This is a stunning piece. And it is a good thing you have uploaded it here, as unfortunately zobobafoo has left FA now, removing all pieces of artwork as well. Which is truly saddening as this is an impressive piece of work.
Feeling lost and attempting to find yourself are common, but strong, feelings indeed. One good thing about the furry subculture is that one is allowed to examine all aspects of self, and work through whatever it is one is feeling or experiencing. Developing those emotions through art, and expressing oneself through it.

We've all had feelings like this at certain times in our life, including myself. Not knowing what lies ahead for each of our lives and questioning what our long or short-term goals we all want to achieve can be quite a confusing and often a very stressful situation if you don't know which direction you wanna take for yourself. I personally believe that what the Bible promises for each and every one of our futures is bright, full of peace and tranquility, and all the more satisfying in God's new world as we get to learn different skills like how to hone my artistic ability, build houses, etc. and very exciting facts about the wonders of nature and geography. It still leaves me in awe and amazement to this day even after 7 years of becoming a witness of Jehovah.
But that's my viewpoint in areas like this. I don't know what your long or short term plans are but I hope they're both physically and spiritually refreshing. Love this detail of the sun setting over the horizon by the way^^

Oh goodness, thank you so much for such a detailed and genuine comment! I have to admit I'm not much of a spiritual person, but I think we all fret over the future, it's the ultimate unknown.
And yeah, the artwork itself is just amazing. My favourite touch is the little specks of stars across the top, just a wonderful detail that really makes it even more beautiful.

Doesn't it ever. Everything looks stunningly beautiful with the colors and added stars in the background. It makes me feel like I'm right there with him.
I truly believe that everybody's future will be a life changing experience for the better not just locally but on a worldwide scale.^^
