Before the war, Jesz Seghdas was a highly respected Othian doctor living and practicing in the Ultimarian Capitol city, Trides. When the war between the two races broke out, the once neutral Othoth became violent and corrupt, as if something had taken over their minds and possessed them.

Jesz, living far away from the Othian homeworld and far away from any members of his own race at the time was not affected by the rage that seemed to hold the rest of his race as captives in their own bodies. However, after the Othian bombing of several sectors of Ultimare, the Ultimarians that had once called him a friend immediately saw him as a threat and tried to kill him.

He escaped to the Alderia sector, which was reduced to rubble after the bombings. He had several large scars on the left side of his face from his escape, but was thankful just to be alive. He formed a shaky truce with the local gangs. In exchange for safety and supplies, he would become a mob doctor and heal any criminal that came to him. He would never let the criminals know his real name, so they began calling him "The Angel of Mercy" or just "The Angel" because he had saved so many lives. It isn't a nickname that he is particularly fond of, but it sticks nonetheless.

His home and 'office' became a safe haven for all gang members in the area. It operates under a strict 'no violence' policy among feuding gangs that is respected by even the most bloodthirsty of criminals.

Over the years, The Angel became increasingly paranoid. He has become short-tempered and borderline violent and harbors a deep and utter hatred for the entire Ultimarian race, whom he blames for all the ill fortune that has happened to him since the beginning of the war.

He keeps his work area meticulously clean to the point that he is nearing Germaphobia, perhaps trying desperately to wash away his sins of the past.

And despite his cold and coercive nature, he is still unable to turn away a patient in need, even an Ultimarian. This is the last remnants inside of him of the good doctor that he once was

I haven't really sat down to draw something good for myself in a little while, so that's where this came from.

I'm also trying out different coloring styles, since I'd like to have more then one style in my tool box. This is a mixture of cell shading and a more painterly style. I'd like to develop this and a few other styles a little more,
