The maker of the guitar is not important, it is the fact that you use it and play it! I do have some nice gear, I admit but, but it gets so rarely used a lot of the time that it is a shame..
-shameless gear list-
- Talor 114 Acoustic (http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/114)
- Fender "Contemporary" Telecaster (early '80s twin humbucker design, rare. Frank Black plays one. Here is mine when I tried to sell it http://members.kingston.net/prplhaze/misc/fender/)
- Early '70s Granada copy of a Barney Kessel guitar. (the one in the picture)
- Godin Acousticaster A12 Deluxe (Currently on consignment sale at a local vintage store (http://www.coolguitars.ca/kgs_inv_detail.php?InvID=3581)
- Vantage 4 string active bass (Gift from my brother)
- No name mandolin and no name Ukelele
Fender 4x10 Bassman amplifer ('70s)
Vox AC15 Cambridge practice amplifer
Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi distortion pedal
Electro Harmonix Holy Grail vibrato pedal
Electro Harmonix Small Stone phaser (Vintage '60s unit)
Sadly most of it hangs on a wall. I really have to start playing more!

It is an early '70s copy of a Gibson Barney Kessel model guitar. The guitar is straight out of the "Lawsuit Era" of Japanese guitars. This particular one was made by Matsumoku, the same company that built guitars like Aria and many licensed guitars like Fender and Gibson. The quality is just stunning on it and it sounds really quite nice. This guitar is a prime example of why people covet the '70s era Japanese guitars.
I picked it up in a junk shop for $90 and had it rewired here in town by a master luthier. He was really impressed with the guitar and has a love for the lawsuit era of guitars so he appreciated it from the start. When it was done he mentioned that I should be able to easily get about $900 or so for it because it is pretty desirable. Not a bad investment on my $190 total investment.
