Not so much later on for me. im one of those cheap ass Zweihander abusers, i like the attack timing for them better than the clubs version.

Yeah, I actually managed to turn my zweihander into Artorias' sword (cursed version) before I figured how useful it was. Geez cheese, epic noob mistake... >.>
Anyway, the zweihander in all honor, but there are virtually no significant enemies who can put up much resistance to the club. Most armor is going to be useless against it too, so it matters little if you prefer Havel's armor or the hard leather, you'll be like a mashed potato in a bowl refered to as armor. And if you've got a character with level 50 in strength, well... Let's just say that if that character were to tear down a house, it'd be turned to dust within the hour. You ask me, it's the best weapon in the game for its sheer efficency! :-D

i pretty much just use the bastard sword myself. it's fast. stuns easily and you can end up doing over 1000 damage if your enemy is stunned after hitting them various times (at least in pvp)

another wep of my choice is the big club you get from the blighttown dudes. SO POWERFUL.

(they were pretty much the weps i most used in Demon's souls too. the greatsword and uchiganata are not so cool as they were in demon's sadly)

I would reccomend a Claymore if your into that style of swordplay, but the bastard sword is a good down and dirty weapon for living >:)

I understand where your coming from yes, but you have to remember that if your at the point in the game where your rocking havels and 50 str, then almost anything is gonna do enough damage for resistance stats to not matter at all. I'm at NG +++ and i have a stacked Enchanted Sweihander that havent found an enemy it cant 1-2 shot other than bosses obviously (unless its pinwheel cause hes a Weak poophead) Plus, its dark souls, if you're getting hit then your doing it wrong ;).

Another thing to consider is that you shouldn't mix PVE with PVP its a bad thing to compare weapons with since pvp is more about movement and attack Style over stats.

And yes i understand a lot of what i said is debateable, but different people play the game in different ways.

Heh, I'll agree on those points. I'm still convinced that, in the right hands, the club's gonna prove a superior weapon. It might not have the stunning capabilities or raw damage of weapons like the zweihander, but it's quick, simple and ignores most resistance. Plus it's greatly affected by strength, even compared to the more senior weapons. Yeah... Caveman technology ftw! XD
