this is almost too true to be funny. XD But then I have a heaping helping of resentment at the public school... thing... all over [I grew up in Alabama, which while not THE WORST, is abysmally bad and like 47 in a descending list of states public school quality - when it's THAT low it doesn't matter if it's "the worst" or not].
ALSO SNEAKY getting people to have to go to your site to actually read it. I admit, I'm one of those people who strictly followed it on here :P It's more so 'cause it's easier and I am forgetful about checking the comics I read [though these uploads serving as little "reminders" is handy. I forbid you from stopping them. NOT REALLY. I am feeling cheeky this morning, don't mind me]

Well, the one good thing you can say about the Alabama school system is...actually, you can't really say anything about it. In terms of education, Alabama is the joke state, isn't it? If you want a shorthand for a mass of uneducated hicks, Alabama is the first state that always come sto mind, even before Arkansas and Mississippi. Why is that? It probably has something to do with the name. Alabama is such an evocative name. It just sounds yokelish. XD

Nah, I do it a lot myself. I don't mean to sound cliche, but I didn't exactly fit in where I grew up, for a multitude of reasons. I didn't much like it there - for sake of all the backwards undereducated people. Once I moved away it was shocking to learn a lot of the more "liberal" people I had been familiar with were, compared to the people I met up north, still really racist and crass.
Then there's the actual land itself - kinda flatish, mostly scraggly pine trees, cows and cotton fields. Not exactly a heart warming place.

The words "education" and "system" do not belong in the same sentence. We're treated like memory banks, and all the 'bad' RAM sticks get discarded to keep the system running smoothly. Which... sort of points out that the primary interest of the education system lies in the education system, if you overthink it a little.
My thoughts, in order:
* I didn't learn anything I cared about in school until senior year of college.
* The reason we have such terrible schools in America is that easier schools are exactly what we asked for. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
