More Dead Space art. Whenever I can't think of what to do for a warmup, I usually fall back on video games. When I game I tend to think quite a bit about what I as a person would do in the various situations, or else I'll invent a character the way someone would make up a roleplay character for a game, even if it's just a thing about shooting zombies, my brain demands I give it some story.
So here is Gen in the Dead Space universe. She's found a temporary haven in a little storage room with some food that survived. They're probably dull and tasteless generic space food rations made out of soy and seaweed and who knows what else, but if you get hungry enough all you care about is whether or not something is edible. She doesn't even pay much mind to the fact that the wall she's leaning on tells a story of a bunch of people being lined up against it and shot.
I actually did this as another scanner test. I wanted to do some art with some soft glowy effects to see if it would transfer well, and it looks like it did, yay new scanner!
Copic marker and gelpen on 4x6 canvasboard. The original is for sale.

Because of all the amusing "Eeeeew!" sounds you make ;)
Seriously though, it's just the source material that suggests it. And imagine just Dead Space Gen's face when someone asks "Hey, anyone know what happen to those necromorph samples I put in the storage room? The green ones in the plastic bag." ;)

She's probably eating soilant green chips?
You know it's funny, you never think about what the characters in game do for the regular stuff in life. Like how do they NOT go to the bathroom when being chased by alien zombies?
Great work on this piece. DeadSpace Gen is working those space glasses.
