Something I drew up for
mazz at Furry Fiesta, and she was kind enough to scan it for me! Drawn with dry pastel + ink on pastel paper.

Just signed up to this site a few minutes ago, because I kept seeing such sweet artwork that I wanted to comment on. I spotted this on the front page almost right away, and I have to say, it's a great start.
I've got a lot of respect for traditional artwork and artists, and even more so for pastel art, which is probably one of my favourite kinds of traditional work. And this piece certainly doesn't disappoint. All the visible strokes (I'm no great artist myself, so apologies if that's not really the right term) show the amount of time and effort you put in. The colours meld really well upon the feathers, yet the streak of yellow upon the beak and the shine atop the raven's head are a great contrast that certainly isn't too domineering over the rest of the image.
The concept is quite interesting too. Being new to the site, I don't know that Mazz, so of course it might be a staple of hers to have a leashed raven. But if not, then I would just like to comment that it's a really interesting idea, and it was another thing that caught my eye when I saw this on the front page. A collared and leashed bird is kinda bizarre, but I like it a lot.
Anyways, overall, a really great piece of artwork. I really like it, and I'm sure Mazz does too. What a great way for me to have started off here on FurAffinity.
