I really hope my effort can be seen in this picture, since i spent about 7 hours on drawing/painting it.
the reasons i took part in this contest are that I really think those two characters look quite interesting, they are really my taste and remind me of my own ideas and characters a little. another reason is i also love the art style of the contest holders. and thirdly i hope to win a few extra bucks since im too ill to work and i want my fursuit so much.
soo i tried my best and hope for a chance.
I´m practising backgrounds and handling colors and shading better lately. Ive never been good at backgrounds but i hope it gets better.
those two may have to be darker due to the sundawn background, but i still wanted all the details and colors to be visable
when reading their description, i thought they must be really happy to have some time for each other now and then.
i really hope i did poet in a good size, i only got his human size on the sheet and he looked like a small dog.. i hope i did it right.
too bad the quality looking so bad after upload, i put a jpg ,i did use pngs before but i found that they didnt look much better on here.. :c

so happy u like it that much , that already was all worth the effort. Those two are just a strange couple and that what makes them a good couple i think, it was not hard to decide which one i would draw. is poet meant to be about this size in his feral form? i didnt have the data for that so i just hoped my imagination of him was right. i think its so interesting how different they are in personality as also in their look and they still get along , like tanners the cool kinda rough one and poet the cute lovely. at first glance i thought he was a female,
You have the sizing right, Poet is much smaller than Tanner, he's like a pup always <3
And YES, that's exactly how they are, they contrast so much but Poet needs someone responsible in his life and Tanner sees him as such a stress relief compared to his job.

thank you a lot! when i draw for others it mostly comes out better than if i do my own characters xD . good to hear that i didnt forget somehting about the markings, i always try to take a close look when i draw characters. reminds me that sometimes my sona destiny got drawn ,the markings mostly turned different from the ref, like the belly fur line goes in a gap under his eyes, but it often got drawn right through the eyes. not sure why, since if you have a ref u cant do much wrong i guess.
