This plate was commissioned by 
braxia at MWFF 2012. It is a very complex character, and was quite a challange!
Braxia is a water goddess, so I thought having her manipulate water would be a good element to add to the design.

These all are white glazed porcelain that I buy from a china shop or estate sales. They are painted with porcelain paints (which can be used on glazed or unglazed china, as well as glazed stoneware and other ceramics) and then fired at 1200 to 1600 degrees. Every layer of color is fired separately. This piece was fired around 6 times to get the depth of color I wanted.
