Convenience stores in Japan... What can I say? Well, granted, any convenience store in Asia is going to be superior in their quality of food. But in particular, I have had the most experience with convenience stores in Japan. This one in particular was just a block from my dorm.
Japanese convenience stores could be considered more along the lines of miniature grocery stores rather than a place to get quick junk food. Granted, they have candy, but one of the cheapest snacks is onigiri rice balls. xD You can even buy cooking ingredients! If you look to the left on the reflection you'll also see a variety of instant noodles. They have curry cup noodles. Curry cup noodles! Love 'em! Along with those darn delicious Ippudo tonkotsu noodles.
"Konbini" are all over the place! There's one every block, be it 7-Eleven, Lawson, Family Mart, etc. So if you're ever in Japan for any amount of time, go check one out! Just be careful taking pictures. The staff actually frowns upon that. xD Which is why I managed to sneak one in the back here.
