It's a portmanteau of the two characters' Japanese names: Omitsu and Pururun. When you create a compound word by putting one word after another that ends with "tsu", the "tsu" becomes a small "tsu", so it becomes "Mippuru". Which is then Anglicized into "Mipple". And thanks for the compliment,
