For 14 years I worked in the church as a preacher, thinking I'd found life's answers, but life is more complicated than I'd given it credit for. I find my writing tends to focus on certain recurring themes: love, religion, morality, death, personal identity, sexuality, loss of faith, hope. I try to write stories that acknowledge some of the darkness of reality, but are still fundamentally optimistic.
