Hi,
As my username and profile image suggests, I'm a large fan of aviation, like the only flying AVRO Vulcan B2 bomber still airworthy (XH558)
I'll show some of the images that I took during Farnborough Airshow 2010 in a while, also I've been to see the TV series Robot Wars during series 5/6 and Extreme 1/2 at the age of about 6/7, and got to hold the patented Pussycat blade, also I got one of four wheels from the Extreme 1 robot as Alan Gribble was giving them away and as such I was lucky enough to get one of only four. Also, I was on a return flight from Helsinki, Finland and told the flight attendant to thank the pilots for the flight, coincidently it was Christmas Eve and managed to enter the cockpit of the Boeing 757 used for the flight to thank the flight crew. I also flew a light aircraft briefly when on an air experience flight with the Air Training Corps via the RAF's Grob Tutor fleet at RAF Benson.
I haven't been talking much as I'm shy and usually it takes a while for me to speak up if I meet someone new.

Newsflash!!! (G)
It has been announced just a few minutes ago that a new six-episode long series of Robot Wars is to be shown on BBC2, although the only thing known currently is that a new arena is to be constructed in Glasgow, as nothing else has been announced.
Personally this has been long awaited, what does everyone else think?
MAJOR UPDATES:
Jonathan Pierce and Professor Noel Sharkey are returning to the show, with new hosts Dara รณ Briain and Angela Scanlon (Mock the Week and The Voice respectively)
The format has changed significantly from last time, instead of straight knockouts, two robots are eliminated from the first round, like before however the remaining four will fight each other where the two with the most points (described as a mini-league by the website) will go to the final. Five heat finalists and one wildcard entry will then fight to become the new champion.
The BBC has also released a media pack which also contains the robots which appear in the five heats, most are newcomers to TV to but have been around the live circuit a while, whilst some are returning from previous series.
Heat A will air on the 24th of July at 8 pm and the robots in said heat include:
Behemoth
Terrorhurtz
Razer
Kill-E-Crank-E
Bonk (Entered Mute in series 7 and Extreme 2)
Carbide
Nuts
The General

Flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder putting Baseball Cards in the spokes. Cpt. Rex Kramer in Airplane
