Do you have favorite place on the web where you find interesting news that *aren't* predominantly negative, depressing or politically charged?

Reason I'm asking is that a week or two ago, I saw that some people stumbled onto an old Netscape-themed news website. Original layout, maintained by whomever, since the early 2000s.
On first glance: D'aw! That's nice! Look at this nice layout which is so dense and full of information, and 0% optimized and watered down for touchscreens!

But on second glance, the very news themselves were sourced from common headlines. And they're overwhelmingly negative. And they shove global warmongerning and politics onto your desk even though you didn't cause them, aren't responsible, and can't do anything about it in any capacity that warrants getting pestered by it.
That is nothing new, but it helps to see just how weirdly tilted this is.

Tech news the same. The shift there went away from reviews and updates (I mean actual reviews, not that paid marketing shit that calls itself reviews or goes THIS VIDEO IS SPONSORED BY
LUBE HEADPHONES, BUY YOURS NOW) - and from the development of interesting tech and products, to just tech CEO-centered cultism and nonsense.

Everything that the top 1% of the top 1% of the top 1% earners does, is immediately given a huge spotlight as if it is the most important thing in your life to know about that.
Spoiler: It isn't. Another spoiler: Obviously they went shopping and outright bought most of the news websites so they got a nice platform. Not surprising.

Not gonna turn this into a debate about that, instead I'll repeat my question~
Do you know of a website/forum/feed/something that purposefully and intentionally does NOT include any of that stuff?

Something that actual humans populate with hand picked things? I'd be curious to learn of this.

If I had a wish, then I suppose it would be a mixed kinda feed that contains 50% contents that are very obviously not real, and 50% real things.
By non-real things I mean so clearly not related to our current doings that it is not fake news, or scams, but just extended worldbuilding. Scifi, fantasy, recurring characters and factions.
Something that is interesting because it was written to BE interesting! xD Mass Effect 2 had that for about a year and half after release, in the form of the Cerberus Daily News.
Man have I enjoyed those short news snippets, and every few years I revisit them and read a bunch in bed before falling asleep.


Other than dreaming of interesting news to enjoy, I've been hard at work preparing yet another operating system switch, from one linux to another linux variant. -A- Two weeks of hard work, but at least an end is in sight.
And I've remembered that I have got artworks to do, and so you have to endure me typing this shiet because that is also still pending. P;
