Game Recap: vs London...I know what I'm doing...I think. (G)
Brad: I've done this many times before, but this time it feels different.
Touque Guy: Well you did move in the summer and you are doing things for another team so there's that.
Brad: I guess that's it. How've you been?
Touque Guy: Not bad, too bad I couldn't come with.
Brad: Well if you're willing to relocate I can see what I can do.
Touque Guy: Please do. Ever since you left there's been a strange looking blimp that circles the city, almost like clock work.
Brad: *face palm*
Touque Guy: What? What I say? *looks out the window* Yeah, I have that reaction too sometimes.

Hey Puffins fans, I told you I'd be back, I'd never lie to you. To those Frost fans that may be watching this on the 'Bay's channel I'm allowed to still see and talk to old friends even though I moved. For this game review decided to wear something special *pulls a jersey out of a bag and puts it on*. Ever seen those half and half jerseys? As Frankenstein-ish this looks we got half of the Frost logo and colours on one side and half Puffins on the other. I will try to stay as neutral as I can, but because I have invested interest both physical and emotional there may be times where I go off balance.
Anyway, my fellow Puffins supporters, it's great to be back, and it pains me to do this, but PUFFINS...lose...4-5 to the London Frost. The Barterra Enterprises Arena is a fun place to be for hockey. The food is a decent price, the staff aren't jerks, the choice of music is good, and there is a pretty good chance someone's gonna start a fight, and it's usually one of two people. Maxy, Matt, Frank Foxx, and the head coach of the Frost know what it's like to play and win in this building, having been on the Puffins in the past so they know what needs to be done. D.L. Leonnie in net for the Frost, so hopefully Foxx gave 'em the 4-1-1, or not hopefully depending which side of this double jersey you're on.
The Puffins do what every team does during their home opener so I don't need to give the recap of that 'cause we'd be here a while. Phoenix Audubon kills the mood a little over 3 minutes into the game as Jordan Rinehart and Cliff Pumpkin feed 'em and he beats Kita Icewuff short side. Pumpkin's not done as a few minutes later he sets up Skye Goodfellow who goes 5-hole to put the Frost up by 2. The home team gets that one back in the back end of the frame when Carl York and Remmy Chevalier with a little back and forth and Vukasin Silvak with the nice finish to be D.L. Leonine. Not to be outdone, Chris Bartholomew wants in on the scoring action and with 43 seconds to go he gets his name on the scoresheet, top shelf, red light on. Red and Greenwood Hunter with the assists, but let's talk about Hunter for a sec, shall we?
Show of hands, who thought as last season progressed and debated sparks of who should be named Rookie of the Year that the top two candidates would wind up on the same team the following year? Not me, that's for sure.
Oh, I forgot to mention that mid-way through the period Rodney took a puck to the knee, he left the game and didn't return. But since I'm recording this a couple of days after the game I can tell you he has been medically cleared to return.
The Puffins are itching to get back in this one when they come out for the second period, and they do so quickly as just under 2 minutes in Paul Shepherd takes a pass from Pheagle Adler and blasts one from the point that beats Leonine, cutting the Frost's lead to 3-2. The Frost get it back a minute and change later, Audubon again, glad we kept that guy from the move...Sorry Puffins fans, but you gotta admit Audubon's been a key producer for the Frost so far.
Those that know me know I'm not afraid to tell it like it is, and I want to be real for a moment. Pheagle Adler, Captain Birdman. I like you, I like your style. You score, you drop people, that is fun to see. However, I would appreciate if you could please NOT FALL ON OUR CAPTAIN AND INJURE HIS TAIL! I get accidents happen, but I've seen enough falls in sports to sense a bit of deliberance. Not a lot, but enough to sense it. You know I bet next time you two play against each other he could take you, in fact I'd be willing to put money on it. If you're smart you'll know why I think it, in fact I bet his mom could take you. You know what, if we could fund that as a charity fight I will pay your appearance fee. We can talk about that later, both teams have a game to win.
As you can see I have no issue with calling someone out when it is needed, and, I am one to also give credit where it is due. Adler narrowed the gap 23 seconds into the third period to cut the Frost's lead to 1. The Frost press hard to get that back, but Ace Andrews has other ideas and he stripe the put from the Frost and get it to Silvak, back of the net it goes, tie game. There we go, we got competitive one here, and the Puffins faithful come alive. 9 seconds later Cliff Pumpkin kills the mood in the room as he goes top shelf with a nice solo effort, Frost take the lead 5-4. Puffins press hard as the clock winds down, but Leonine comes up big to seal the deal.
A better end result for the Frost, a not so good end recent for the Puffins, but lots of promise for both teams. The Puffins travel to Downriver to play the Dragons next, while the Frost have an off day before heading to Newfoundland. If the first two game days are any indication on how the season will go, the Great Lakes Division will be the most competitive division in the league. Sure I'll take a big lead and run away with it, but with what I've seen so far I have a feeling this will be the division to watch.
That is it for this one, thanks for tuning in, see you next time.
