Drawing Journey Update (G)
Over the past week I've been trying to figure out a good drawing framework for posing the figure in any position regardless of perspective or foreshortening. It feels like the gesture drawing is great for making your brain understand dynamism with poses, but between all the different ways you can draw gesture and everyone having their unique systems, it starts to get overwhelming when deciding what I should sink my study time into.
After revisiting older study materials, I've found that Artwod's form and contour manipulation techniques make the most sense to my brain and lets me utilize the spacial awareness I've developed in Drawabox. It also gives me a firm structure of lessons rather than creating a curriculum myself.
I'll be pausing the drawing journey pages while working through the newer Artwod lessons. I plan on completing:
- Beginner Roadmap
- Beginner Figure Roadmap
- Anatomy Course
Afterwards, I'll pick the pages back up (possibly digitally) and likely focus each one to a full-body anthro character. That's the ultimate goal I'm reaching for with this series, and grinding out 450+ of them should help greatly after I have a drawing framework I can use :)
