Update to My Previous Journal Entry (G)
Sharing this is extremely difficult for me, but I can’t leave the previous information standing as if nothing had happened.
Four days ago, on the 25th, Galileo passed away.
For weeks, I believed he was dealing only with an eye condition — that’s what several vets had told me. But there was a hidden, severe illness consuming him in silence. Everything collapsed overnight: he suddenly began struggling to breathe, and I took him to an emergency vet. They charged me for a full day of hospitalization, took him in, and twenty minutes later called me back only to tell me he had gone into cardiac arrest caused by severe blood insufficiency.
I still don’t know if it was anemia, leukemia, or hemobartonelosis (a flea-borne disease). The vet couldn’t — or wouldn’t — explain it. He died alone, and the entire experience left me without answers.
I wasn’t able to gather the money in time to take him to the clinic that truly knew his case and had saved him before. That will stay with me. Losing him like this has been devastating, and I can’t understand why the gentlest souls are taken so early, or why life insists on tearing away the most beautiful parts of our path without warning.
I miss him every single day. The silence he left behind is overwhelming.
I’m writing this with a lot of pain, but deleting the original post felt wrong. If anyone still decides to help, any donation will now go directly toward Galilei’s wellbeing — he’s the only one I have left, and he still needs care.
