I had to delete some art, here's why. (G)
I doubt anyone will notice or will have noticed but I recently decided to delete 2 posts that were produced by a certain artist.
I won't name them because that a breach of the term of service on this site, but I will explain why I chose to delete the posts.
It has come to my attention that a certain artist has used AI to make certain pieces, some of these pieces are also allegedly traced from AI generations.
One of my friends mentioned this in confronting the artist and the response was "I did use AI a year ago" to which my friend mentioned that examples they saw was recent. The artist has made multiple excuses to try and dodge blame.
My choice upon discovering this news was as follows.
Do I
A) Leave the artists work in my gallery but relabel it as an AI generated/assisted creation and run the risk of shunt my reputation with artists in the future.
or
B) Delete the artists work from my gallery.
You know the answer to that.
I am pretty much Anti-AI.
AI generations pollute the planet, they scalp genuine artists work, they promote another realm of dishonesty within the creative space of art, and the use of AI to replace members of the general workforce limits the distribution of wealth, thus stifling growth, profit and security while the capitalist engine eats its own tail.
I refuse to be associated with AI because it does damage to the planet and the creative industry.
So I have no choice but to remove those pieces, regardless if they used AI or not.
To the artist whose work I have deleted.
I am disappointed beyond measure.
I cannot get my money back from you.
I cannot get my time back from you.
You are committing fraud to you customers as they paid for a genuine creative process, so to learn that you skip corners is a shame.
I recommend that you delete your gallery and never darken our creatively appreciative doors ever again.
If you don't know who the artist is, feel free to contact me privately and I will inform you.
What you do with this information is up to you.
Good evening.
