This is going to be a bit of a master post about pipe canines.

What is a Pipe Canine? 



Pipe canines are a semi-open fictional species, created at the end of 2018. They are a variety of different canine species which have pipes embedded into their spinal cords - these pipes start in the center of the forehead and stop at the base of the tail.



What are the origins of pipe canines? 



Akiro was the first and only to have been experimented on, mutated and brought into physical form - he endured many years of his childhood undergoing procedures in a laboratory. Once the trials were deemed successful, his genes were extracted, spliced and injected into the next string of victims. 

Although Akiro was the first, and original, Atlas was actually the first born pipe canine. Akiros mirror-self, if you must. 



Who are the og pipe canines? 



Meet the gang! 

Akiro, Atlas and Damien.



Akiro - the og of og's, Akiro was the first pipe canine to come into light. When he feels any sort of negative emotion, steam is released from his pipes.

Atlas was born in May of 2020 - when he feels positive emotions, steam comes out of his pipes, and Damien August of 2021 - when he is flirtatious or feels passionately about something/someone, steam comes out of his pipes. 

Akiro and Atlas are brothers by choice. 



What is allowed…? 





 - Can be any sort of [canine| https://www.britannica.com/topic/list-of-canines-2058410] 

 - Must have a minimum of 5 pipes, maximum of 10 pipes

 - Short tufts of hair on top of head

 - 5 colors or less



What isn't allowed...? 





 - NO natural colors (they are genetically mutated) 

 - NO long hair styles

 - one set of steam/smoke emotions per pipe canine

  - Different colored eyes and pipes (non-og pipe canines must have the the same colored pipes and eyes, and no gradients)

  - More than 5 colors 



Species FAQ



What do the pipes do? 



The pipes release steam/smoke when each canine feels a specific set of emotions very passionately. 

The steam/smoke released is tinted to the color of their eyes and pipes. As each emotion if felt more, the steam/smoke becomes more dense and more saturated in color. 

Some pipe canines attempt to mask their emotions through different expressions, but the pipes steaming/smoking is a telltale sign to their real emotions. 



What kind of emotion group can my pipe canine have? 



Joy, Fear, Sadness, Disgust, Anger 



 - Negatives

		 - anger, jealousy, sadness

 - Positives

		 - happy, excited, humorous 

 - Romantical (platonic)

		 - Flirty, cuddly  



Can the pipes be covered?



The pipes from the base of a pipe canines tail to the space between their shoulder blades can be covered at any time.



However, the pipes from the back of their neck to their forehead cannot be covered at all.

If any of these pipes get covered, it can cause severe migraines.



What happens if/when air blows into the pipes?



A multitude of different things;

 - it tickles the pipe canine internally.

 - can cause a whistling sound to be heard at different pitches depending on the affected pipes. 

 - the pipe canine will explode.



All pipe sonas are filled with sweets. 

Their blood is the same color as eyes and pipes.



Can random things get inside of the pipes?



Only to a certain point.

Stuff such as dirt or bugs may fall or land inside the rim of the pipes, but a sieve like metal plate helps prevent anything from getting inside.
