Emergency Life Change GoFundMe (G)
I basically got the push I needed yesterday, not to do as the person said but to trust my own feelings and intuition. At the end of September I'll be moving from New Orleans to Northern California, where I have family willing to act as a "landing pad" for me while i start over, seek treatment/employment. I'm finally making the huge step and cutting the strings my toxic, manipulative family has had me bound and gagged with for decades. Should it have happened ten years ago? Probably. Can I do anything about the fact that it didn't? No, but I can do it now and take the first few steps towards a happier and healthier version of myself who can look in the mirror and honestly like the person he sees.
Now that I have made this decision, I need to figure out how I'm going to get from here to there without maxing out my credit cards (I've been working hard to pay them down and it would be such a massive setback). I've created a GoFundMe page for help in paying for the move and you can find it here: http://gf.me/u/ytb6v8 . I don't know what is a "reasonable" goal so I've broken down what I've budgeted for and explained as best I can in the details. I've said as much elsewhere but I understand that for most of us money is tight (i'm currently dependent on my toxic family for support as I lost my job right before the pandemic and thus didn't qualify for COVID-related unemployment) so even if you can't spare any actual funds, helping share this around would mean the world to me. I know I'm not a "popufur" and I don't have a very wide audience but hopefully I can reach enough people with this.
Thank you for even just reading this by the way. Money isn't the only thing we're having to ration these days after all. Choosing what to invest our emotional energy in has become a daily battle and if you chose to invest it in reading this, I want to thank you just as profusely as those who are able to donate. I also still have 2 slots open for short story commissions if that's more your speed and you can find out more about those here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36905694/
And as before, this account is technically inactive so I encourage you to re-follow me at my new account which is
