ngl friends this has been one of the scariest times in my life and I was not doing well mentally through it, from constantly worrying about insurance and the surgery (I never had a surgery before or been under anesthesia), sleeping awkwardly on the couch in one pose only (RIP my tailbone), and I tried drawing sometimes but couldn't get the position right without pain which was very frustrating. the surgeon said he might have to break it in another spot to reach it properly bc it fractured so weird which was Not Comforting to hear minutes before going under. also the possibility of never having the arm ever be the same again ofc. but it went well and now I'm actually healing finally!!! they were able to fully straighten the arm before putting it in a splint again so that's a good sign it will heal correctly. I did have to go to the ER afterwards because it started randomly gushing blood a few hours later, so that was scary too but it turned out to just be one little spot dripping like a leaky faucet lol. the anesthesia and arm block have fully worn off and my arm is so swollen and sore right now but the follow-up is next week and things are looking good all things considered. I'm just so glad the hard part is all over now!

its crazy how a split second decision can change so much- if I didn't crash my bike in the gravel I might have been hit by that ambulance and it could have been much worse. luckily I always wear a helmet, but regretting not going with elbow and knee pads too. don't be like me, wear all your safety gear! and make sure your brakes work properly! even if it's just a quick ride- this all happened 2 minutes from my house.
