Heads and hands. (G)

Has anyone got a guide or particular way of drawing heads and hands, like I'd love to know, because my current way of drawing them doesn't translate very well onto the PC.
Mostly I keep drawing thin lines until i get the correct shape and feel, but I waste a lot of paper doing so as well as a lot of time.
I recently bought a new tablet, getting used to it is hard because I like to turn my sheets around while I draw and that not helping with my tablet >w<
