Here's the deal. The furry fandom is not something you leave. It is not something where you need to choose to be a member. It is a gathering of like-minded people who you can be friends with and share interests with. Why do people make it out to be an almost religious cult? I don't know.

I am here because I have made many friends, and as in life there will always be people we don't like. Whoopdee fucking doo, get over it. Now just because you don't like one person, you alienate all of your friends because you feel it is the fault of a shared interest? "OMG you're a furry and I can associate with you because I left the fandom." What the fuck? Seriously... Fucking grow up.

If you feel you HAVE to be friends with people who deem themselves to be furry, you are not a friend of said furries. If you feel you can just drop something you supposedly hold an interest in, including art and friends, then you are a disgrace to ANY society whether it be human, animal, alien, furry, etc. You are crap, absolute crap.
