There are very few individuals that I would call a fandom-wide institution; Dragoneer was one of them.
I didn't know him, and people will say what they will about FA and the company he kept, but there's no denying that the fandom today would be what it is without him.
Let there be no doubt in people's minds that he deserved better.
I mourn for him.
I mourn for FA.
I mourn for losing another relic of the pre-Twitter/Facebook internet age that gave me a space to discover who I am.
Rest in peace, Dragoneer.
