Rest In Peace, Mother (G)
As the title suggests, my Mother has passed away.
I don't know what else to say. She was, and still is, my hero.
She was battling cancer for two years. It started in her right breast, and after a year, we all thought that she had beaten it. 8 months later, she found a couple lumps in her lymph nodes. Scans showed it had spread throughout the entire right half of her body, and 3 months ago, a tumour was found in her brain. They did all the treatment that they could, but just over a week ago, there were even more tumours found in her brain. By then she had been constantly having headaches and nausea, and she was hoping that the doctors could just prescribe her something better than T3s for the pain. Instead, she ended up in palliative care in the hospital in her home town, and yesterday, she passed. It was horrible. She was peaceful, but I do not ever want to watch someone I love die ever again.
It was as if she waited for me to be there, like she wanted to say goodbye. It's breaking my heart to type it, to relive the experience, but I have to if I want to heal.
She's a hero, though. My Mother was beloved by the people in her community, and she owned a gym. Women went there for her advice and help to better themselves, and she did what she could for them. There are many things as well, like her eternal, unconditional love for dogs. She couldn't let a dog suffer, and now, wherever she is, she's with all the dogs that she saved over the years.
I miss her so much. Her stubbornness, her determination, her beautiful soul. She's an amazing person, and loved me unconditionally. She tried her hardest to protect me from the evils of the world, to help me when I needed her, and I couldn't do anything to help her at the end but to hold her hand and tell her that I love her.
I don't want to say goodbye, but I have to. Don't worry. I have a giant support system here, and I will be okay eventually.
Rest In Peace, Mom. I love you and I am so proud to be your daughter.
