It has been a while since I posted a journal, ao as we enter the month of march I thought I would be a good opportunity to give my watchers a status update. As time goes on I find it harder to be optimistic about the future. Which is probably why most of my journals for the last years have just been me venting about my own lack of motivation.

But at the moment I'm doing alright, things seem to be getting better than last year. And I have started to think that the reason I have struggled with motivation is because I have become more socially isolated in recent years. Of course that is partially my own fault, and I should make more of an effort to contact people... and keep in touch with people, but it's something I have struggled with for most of my life. When I have kept in touch it has mostly been to discuss drawings or idéas for drawings. But as I wrote earlier, things are getting a bit better and I am feeling more motivated right now.

With that in mind I have decided that I am going to try and be the one who initiates contact more often going forward. Wish me luck.^^
I have also thought about doing art-trades with people again, it can be a pretty good way to exchange idéas and to practice subjects I might not draw otherwise. Although if I'm honest I would probably prefer if I could trade drawings for writing. I like reading stories and I would love to do some short stories to accompany my drawings but writing is not my strong suit. Even just brainstorming idéas with someone would be fun.

I also considered taking on requests but after stopping to think about it I worry that while I am motivated now I might burn myself out if I take on too much work too quickly, especially if I end up mostly drawing other people's idéas (which is kind of what happend when I was still taking requests). Maybe later.
