As previously hinted in my last journal, my time in Arizona was coming to an end. That time has now ended and I can no longer call Arizona my home. Early in December I was informed that my interview with this one company went very well and gave me a job offer. Than everything just went flashing by. They wanted me to start in early January (and even than I had to negotiate for a later start date) and with Christmas coming up I only had a small window to get out of Arizona. Sadly my mate had to stay behind in Arizona it happened so fast, but we have plans on getting back together.

So now I am living in Massachusetts; Woburn to be exact. The company I am working for is one of the world’s leading environmental monitoring instrument manufacturers in the world, where I'll be calibrating and repairing instruments. I could not have landed with a more renowned company in instrumentation if I tried (least with my degree). It also goes to show that a Ph.D. isn't everything. I know of 3 Ph.D. candidates that finish this past year and still haven't landed a job, and one did with pay that was well below average. I only have a Masters and yet I got a well paying job in a field that I love to do. I'm not defacing a Ph.D. or anything, but there is more to the real world than just having a high end degree.

Anyways, I got up to the Woburn area and got everything moved to my temp housing and working on getting settled in. So any Boston-area furs wanting to meet up, just give me a notice.
