Well, what a year it has been! MFF 2025 was a blast. As my 10th year going (only 10 right?), it didn't necessarily standout as the grandest of years, but it was more of what I enjoy. The experience has definitely matured. Friends, hanging out, the atmosphere, seeing how things have grown, and the amazing creativity. I love seeing it all. Sure, I shower MFF with praise when there a ton of conventions to go to, but it is the only con I go to through the year, so it is a special time of year for me. This year I decided to got a little more overboard with the commissions since I haven't got much art over the last two years. Will be posting those as they come! It is a little nuts the con has gone from 5,500 in 2015 (which is still a sizable crowd) to nearly 17,000 this year!


Well, I guess I would be lying saying that nothing stood out. There were a few hiccups that put a few things in perspective. For one, certain habits need to greatly diminish. I have always been a huge beer snob (yes, I'll use the word snob O_o) and that has been the bane of my 2025. Just when I thought I was in the clear, pain crops up again. So, wake up call #2. It's not worth the risk. And second, the con just made me think of where I stand in life in general. Seeing all these great suits, great art, characters on social media with 1000's of views and followers, and how young the crowd stays, it just made this feeling of FOMO wash over me. At 40 years old, am I aging out of this? Is it too late to try and make a small dent on the fandom? Or maybe just needing a change in general. But...maybe that is a toxic mindset. I love what I have, who I know, the people I meet, and the people who stop by here. I just need to keep pushing on with what I can do. Me just thinking out loud. That creative spark always hits after the con. I've added a few guitars to my collection over this last year, so expect some new music soon! That's been severely lacking. Motivation tanked when I lost my dog earlier this year, and it's just been me ever since. I owe it to myself to perk up and continue doing what I love. The good memories keep me going. That's what I am going to do.
