Happy New Year, everyone! As you can see by now, I don't really do journal entries much, instead preferring to gradually offer random updates and bits of lore through the descriptions of newer commissions that I get, but I randomly felt inspired to write one tonight, so... here we go! I'm not going to go into personal details much since that's more for social media and I don't really want to get into more serious developments in my life in a Fur Affinity journal of all things if that's fine, but with that out of the way, here are some random updates.

Random Thing #1: New Short Story

Oh my heck, I actually finally wrote and published a new short story onto here for the first time in years! And now only that, but I commissioned my supportive friend  The--Stickman for story thumbnails for it and older Mello stories, all of which you can see in my creative writing folders, so thank you very much again to him for the new thumbnail art! This new short story takes place in the same world as Mello's stories and even briefly shows the ferret some period of time after his last short stories, but it stars new one-off characters, is told in third person, and technically includes adult content, although it doesn't show sex. Rather than go on about Strawberry Ice Cream forever though, I'll just link to it here and say that I extremely appreciate any views and comments on it; thank you very much to anybody who reads it! I'll also post a raw text version onto So Furry once that website eventually returns.

Random Thing #2: Planned Short Story

I haven't started it yet, but I will eventually write another third-person, one-off short story next, this time starting in a setting that involves Felix and at least cameos him. Don't really have planned details beyond that, just some fleeting ideas, but I wanted to balance out the latest short story that technically includes Mello with something that technically includes Felix. It will most likely have sexual content though by the nature of where Felix likes to go in his free time...

Random Thing #3: Planned 2026 Conventions

It's a new year, and I was bad at mentioning what conventions that I was attending last year outside of social media, so here's the brief list of what I'm planning to attend this year; hope to see some of my awesome friends and other cool people at these:
- MAGFest
- Fur the 'More
- Anthrocon

I do want to try to find some third furry convention to go to again like I used to with Midwest FurFest, but whatever it is will have to be something that close friends of mine are also going to; I haven't decided on one yet. But hopefully I can make that happen since these tend to be super notable highlights of my years.

Random Thing #4: Random Fursona Facts

The above three things (along with me linking my Bluesky page again) are the only real items that I felt really needed to be shared in a newer journal entry, but I want to add at least one more section to this journal entry, so... here are a few random facts about Mello and Felix:
- Mello's favorite fruit is blackberries, with blackberry tea also being one of his favorite drinks
- Mello canonically has a feral hedgehog as a pet; this kind of changes the rules of feral animals in my stories, but rules are made to be broken
- Despite liking to wear glasses as of late, Mello actually has perfect vision
- Felix is a software engineer; his occupation matches whatever my current one is
- While Mello suffers from an anxiety disorder, Felix on the other hand doesn't, although he instead has self-control issues
- Felix's preferred alcohol is wine; he actually only really likes fruity drinks (and champagne) as far that that department goes

Alright, I'm bad at conclusions, so Happy New Year to everyone... again! I know that a lot of crazy stuff keeps happening in life, but hang in there and keep doing the best that you can. Thank you very much to everybody who's supported me in the past, and I hope that I manage to support friends well in return.
