Hi everyone.

So a lot of you will probably look at the title and think "Oh what's this about?"

Well, that's why I made this journal entry to mourn the loss of my book "Cruel Summer"
No, but in all seriousness. Cruel Summer will no longer be updating because I found out that my book can never be published. It took me a while to write this because Cruel Summer really was a passion project for me and it was on the way to becoming the first ever book I published out into the real world.

But the reason for not publishing it is the age old "COPYRIGHT" law.

Now let me explain:

Cruel Summer was named after a song by Bananarama that felt like the 80's to me and at the time I was a massive fan of The Lost Boys.
It's why I created the story in the first place because I wanted to bring something new into this world that wasn't your typical "Booktok Book" I wanted to create an entirely new fandom out of it like what happened to Twilight or Stranger Things (Also a massive inspo for the book).

But unfortunately due to copyright laws, the artists to some of the songs (That the chapters are based off of, since every one is inspired by an 80's song) could SUE ME if I ever were to publish the book. I didn't want to 'JoJo'-ify the names of the chapters (For those of you who don't know, Jojo stands and names were changed in the localized version to avoid copyright. Because a lot of the characters and abilities were named after famous musicians or songs) because at the end of the day it wouldn't make any sense what so ever no matter how I structured it.

My heart is broken, I still can't listen to the song without it making me HEAVILY depressed.
But new things are coming and there always is a silver lining.
