I'm a truck driving tiger,
I was born in 1970, to more or less normal parents (my dad's on the more side, my mom's on the less side)
I've been a dreamer all my life (got that from my mom) but still managed to keep my feet on the ground (that from my dad)
yep, that's pretty much all there is to say

Update for the week ending on 05-01-26 (G)
Chapters written
The week, I wrote 3 chapters for Mind Your Step, 3 for The Engineer’s Family, 1 for Harker, 1 for I’m The Boss, 1 one for the commission, and one for my personal project.
Chapters edited
Three chapters for Mind Your Step and The Engineering’s Family were put through Read and Corrects, along with one For Harker, and one for Going Home.
Other stuff
It’s telling how uneventful my week’s been when I have to resort to talking about my gaming here.
I’ve been playing Take On Mars for the last few weeks. It’s a decade old game, at this point, that has been abandoned, not long after it released base on people’s comment. Not certain how I became aware of it, but a few years ago, I bought it.
There are two side to the game. One is exploring mars through rovers, with having to build them, do the research for better modules, and control the rovers through doing exploration missions on the planet. I’ll say that side of the game feels pretty complete, although I didn’t do all the missions. That’s what I played when I bought the game, but there’s also a manned mission to mars.
Which, when I came across the game in my library a few weeks ago, I decided to play. I was expecting a typical first person colony builder, basically Satisfactory, but building habitats instead of factories.
What I got, instead, was a survival game. Basically, our pod crashes on Mars, I’m the only survivors, and through six missions, I have to escape.
This is where the roughness and incompleteness show.
But having this be a survival game was a pleasant surprise, instead of something annoying, and I played through, not knowing there were only six mission. So I figured that after I’d fueled the excape pod, and was heading to the orbital ship, I’d be told to return down and build habitats for colonists that were on their way.
Instead, I make it back to Earth, land in the ocean, am rescued, game over, thank you for playing.
Yeah, abandoned.
But I wanted more. I wanted to have to survive on the planet, build up and thrive. I went to the discord, which is still active, if quiet. And asked if there was such a survival mode to the game, and I was told no, but someone piped up saying they’d created such a senario and it was on the Workshop.
Went there, added that to my game, and saw they were a number of mods for it and picked a few to add as well.
And the game crashed.
On start up.
Each time.
I unsubscribed from all the mods. I uninstalled the game. Reinstalled it. No go. Did that again, but restarted the computer as well. No go. Uninstalled and deleted absolutely all folders relating to the game, restarted the computer, reinstalled it. Still no go. So I went to the discord and asked if anyone had dealt with this problem before, and it turned out some had. The game doesn’t actually remove the mods when you unsubscribe from them on Steam. So one of them pointed me to a hidden folder within the steam one(missed because it has a string of numbers, instead of something associated to the game) and told me how to alter it to turn off the mods, which let me start the game, then removed them from within the option.
And all that in time for my monday game. So I reinstalled his scenario. Checked everything worked. Added another mod, checked again. If the game crashed, I already had that folder open so I could resolve that, remove it, and move on.
And on Monday, I started what I’m calling Stranded. I was going to make it narrative driven, record it and posts the chapters on my gaming youtube, but 1 there is so much waiting around for resources to accumulate that it would make for a very boring experience unless I did a whole lot of editing, which I don’t know how to do, and have no interest in learning, and two, I keep forgetting to start the recording. So all that’s available there is my livestream recording.
And that’s basically it.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask them. If you want to drop by my stream, that’s Monday to Friday, 8am to 3:30pm EST on Twitch and Youtube. https://www.twitch.tv/thetigerwrites and https://www.youtube.com/@TheTigerWrites. There’s also the Saturday Social, now, 6pm EST on Saturdays, where I’m around to chat, answer questions, and, when things become quiet, get some writing in.
Oh, and I guess I should mention this. If you want me to write for you. You can look here: https://thetigerwrites.weebly.com/c.....ssion-me.html. I should say something here about how I’m worth every penny, well, dollar these days. Blame inflation. I had nothing to do with it. But you’re reading something of mine if you’re here, so you can make that decision yourself.
Have a good weekend, and see you next week.
