Hello, this is Victor Cañizares Coleman, but online I am known as James Corck.
I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, artist, and every day I do my best to improve my artistic skills, trying out new things, drawing for others and myself. You may wonder "Why an artist? Why don't you find a job that pays better and is safer?". Well, I read once that sane people become lawyers, doctors, or something other that pays well and has a secured position. If you are insane you make movies, write books, and do pictures. I guess I am insane then. Besides, I tried that whole "better job that pays well" thing for three years, and those were the most miserable years of my life. I only feel good doing this, I genuinely do. Doing otherwise would be to betray what makes me being me.
I come from a family of artists. My great grandfather was an artist. My grandfather was an artist. My mother was an artist. And I want to continue that lineage.
I'm the creator of Ask Movie Slate, an ask blog on Tumblr where I review movies with my character, a cute unicorn called Movie Slate. I also illustrate the comic series "Old Appleoosa: Tales from Eq-Westria" written by Fernindt, "I Will Never Leave You" and "Sanguine Kindness" written by Rated-R-Ponystar, and the comic strip series "Fur With Cream".
I've worked for "BronyScot" doing graphic design for their convention, and came up with those "Best Pony Logo" edits back in 2013. I also worked with Silver Quill on his review show "After the Fact" as a title card illustrator.

HAPPY SPRING EQUINOX! - State of the Birb, March 2026 (G)

Hey there guys!
I hope you've all been well over the past couple of weeks. Things have been well on my side of the world so far, despite how dire everything looks overall. Lets bring some updates and hopefully some optimism.
COMMISSIONS.
Keep chugging along, keep 'em rollin'. I've been deep in the commission mines for a good few weeks, getting them done but also playing catch up with the delay caused by the water pipes breaking on me. I have always had mighty respect for plumbers, but now more than ever.
I don't plan to officially open for commissions yet, but if you wanna order one please reach out, DM anywhere. You can check my socials on the front page as always. I have +40 slots waiting in the queue, but since I don't charge until you reach slot #5 you can be added to it for no cost whatsoever.
UPLOADS.
What's that? Can you eat that?
Yeah, it's not a matter of slacking off, I literally have no energy left to upload to seven websites and make different versions for each different set of ToS after a day's of work. I'll figure out a system, I just don't have it there yet.
And you may ask, "But James, what about PostyBirb?" PostyBirb and eat my ass, ok? I don't like their service, I don't trust their service, and my OCD doesn't appreciate how they handle my descriptions. I ain't never using them.
HEALTH.
Blugh. Neck hurty, caught a cold, overall feeling murky and gunky. Motivation however? 100%. Illness doesn't stop me, it just makes me a bit grumpier.

FINAL THOUGHTS.
You know how things go, you gotta keep on chugging, guys. I guess it's because I my head so far up my own ass (and work too, I guess) that I don't focus on all the bullshit that's going on, but I think we're all allowed to be a little selfish and focus on what we can control. Hang out with your friends, do what you enjoy most, take interest in something you never considered (I started learning how to read the Tarot!) Hell, get a new hyper-fixation. Sure, those are usually frowned upon, but so long as you're not hurting yourself and others you're finding a new way to take a break from the slew of bad news.
Nobody can blame you for wanting to survive.
