Generally I'm a bit shy about initiating communication, but that doesn't mean I'm trying to be antisocial. If I commented on, favorited, or followed something of yours, it probably means I not only found it interesting/enjoyable/thought provoking enough to type a sentence or click a button, but also that I thought it was worth coming out of my shell to interact over.
