Sorting out my 'sonas (G)
First, there was "turquoise tiger wearing a toga" from the weekend I became a furry. I initially named him Inachi, which is why my account is called that. At some point, I decided to see how he would look as a girl, and eventually (for reasons that will come up later), Inachi became Sasuke Inachi and Serena Inachi, who in turn just became "Serena," last name pending, but likely Winters. They are NB, fem leaning because I like how the long hair looks on the turquoise/like blue body, and are named Serena largely because the hair is red. That's a thing I do for most video games that allow it: red hair, green eyes, tan-ish skin, Serena Winters/Watson depending on the situation.
Now, I just had to double check, because I've had Wenny so long that I actually forgot Mazsin predates him. In fact, she came about less than a year into my being a furry! Became a furry September 2014, Mazsin August 2015, Wenny October 2016. Hmm.
Anyway, I had gotten REALLY into a series of dragon books called The Last Dragon Chronicles, and so wanted a dragon sona, and I put an intense amount of effort into that: research, personality quizzes for her colors, her name, her personality, her interests, I even decided to try and dress up as her at a con and...well, I learned some stuff about myself that I tried to explore but haven't addressed in about a decade since for Reasons. Nowadays, I haven't gotten much art of her, but she's still in my heart. She's kinda where my kinks live now.
Wenny, though! Hoo boy. A great friend I've had since basically as soon as I joined the fandom (I can probably narrow it down actually hang on...*opens new page*...it looks like it was around a month before Wenny happened, which would explain why that's how I'm known in her discord server. It was discovered that ligers are overweight, and the infamous blimp liger was drawn during a stream, which I immediately claimed with the declaration of "His name is Lawrence but he goes by Wenny and nobody knows why!" He has since been genderswapped, a Sith Lord, and a shark girl. Last night as of this journal, I officially decided that in addition to being the idealized version of myself (i.e., me if none of the emotional trauma ever happened), he would also be a shapeshifter, as I always thought it would be cool to be able to do that (refer to the Mazsin paragraph). This is why at some point in the future there will likely be a protogen version of Wenny as a one-off comm, because I'm very interested in the idea of that. I don't know if having a proto comes with the baggage of some other species, though....
All of this is to say: lately I've been considering a fourth. See, tigers and ligers have always been some of my favorite animals, and I got obsessed with dragons, but...I've never done anything with my favorite bird. I don't think bird sonas are called furries, like how dragons/reptiles are scalies I think, but idk the one for birds (is it just avians?). In any case: the Red-tailed hawk! I think it's probably because of Animorphs but I couldn't truly say, but that's been my favorite bird for as long as I can remember, and following with the theme of "my sonas harboring parts of myself," this would probably be where my, ah, temper goes.
I have some ideas on visuals and despite my lack of being an artist, have already started trying to sketch them out. I do not know why I understand how to draw wings. They're not good, but they're recognizable. I don't have a name for them, or a chosen gender. I imagine they'll end up as a girl eventually no matter what they start as, since it's only like 70 bucks to do that to a sona as compared to doing it for real, and free to go "nah they're still that though" instead of being stuck forever and scared.
SO YEAH. Four sonas condensed to three sonas with a fourth one on the way! Will they stay an anthropomorphic hawk? Will I fuck it up by combining them with something? Third question I decided not to ask because of remembering the Howard the Duck movie? Who knows?!
