Just your average mutant living in the Norther American forests still trying to figure out exactly what it is I want to do with the rest of my life. I like to cook as a hobby and travel as a way to expand my mind and world-perspective. And maybe, just maybe to find Paradise... but that's another story.

Winds of spare change (G)

So I was just kind of sitting here thinking about how long it's been since I posted anything, and thought what the hell. It's Sunday morning and I've really got nothing pressing to do until Tuesday, so writing seemed like a logical thing to do.
Things for me have been normal lately... a little too normal for my own taste. Work's been like I'm sure most peoples' jobs have been as of late: always asking a little more while vomiting excuses on why they have to give us less, buzzwords that seem to have been compiled by elementary school teachers, and all the usual wharrgarbl that goes along with it. It's actually quite spectacular the level of butthurt that's been going around lately, and being the rapscallion I am, I entertain myself by egging people on just enough to get them to blurt out things they never otherwise would. The place is pretty standard in that it's polarized between your general rabble of factory-laborers and polo-shirt wearing office people, and I have the great advantage of being diverse enough to avoid being laid off. Granted, I do get passed around from department to department, and that just adds to the whole uncertainty of what the hell the lot of these poor hicks are supposed to make of me. Most agree I'm just "out there", which I'll never argue against. After all, when people can't tell which side somebody is obviously on, they tend to be a lot more willing to divulge dirty little secrets and those sorts of things because they know that on the surface I really don't care, but deep down I find it quite entertaining.
Aah, can't say I'll miss that place once I'm gone though. I'm signed up and going through all the motions of finally getting my tail back into school so I don't have to deal with being burnt, scraped, cut, bruised, poisoned and worse of all, employed and used by a bunch of out of touch consumerists who I'm pretty sure only claim to care about us underlings because it's the fashionable thing to do. Oh, and in case anybody was wondering, they don't even call it "downsizing" or "layoffs" anymore... now it's "employee reduction", for those of you who are interested in corporate euphemisms, and they are good to know. There are few things I derive more pleasure from that derailing some pompous, deluded downtalker, who's clearly used to wrangling the witless, with a well-placed jab of sarcasm. It's almost like they the lot of them believe they're the only ones who really know how to sugar coat a turd and sell it as a donut.... the most common reaction is to kind of stare blankly for a moment and float away with that bluescreen-look on their faces. Probably one of the few reasons I'm still there by choice... oh, and I do need to save up more freedom... er... I mean money, for school 'cause I know the gub'ment will only do so much to help.
Anyways, I should wrap this one up. Thinking on heading out this afternoon in search of provisions for the coming week. Got an early long workday on Monday, and I still want to spend a good deal more quality time with my new toy... *ahem* points to submissions page...
Peace to all, but especially those forced by fate to walk the cruel paths
