So I've been struggling to write this post for a little while. It's been a rough time, not gonna lie. Settle in if you feel like it, I'll try to keep it from being too whiny.

I found out from a coworker that my company is going to get rid of me soon, I don't know exactly when. Apparently my boss was gossiping about it, which gives a little bit of an idea what kind of environment it is. It's super stressful and there's such a lack of support and accountability. Sunday nights are mild panic attacks that keep me up all night because I'm so wrecked over having days of that place ahead of me. I've been looking for a new job for a while, but this has added an extra layer of desperation to my search. I've had a few interviews but none have gone anywhere yet. So there's still the daily stress of a job I hate, plus the stress of an impending firing hanging over me plus the stress of repeated rejections all at the same time.

Rye's mother had to have brain surgery last week. Nothing life-threatening and the procedure itself went fine, but there's been some unexpected complications with her recovery. She's in physical therapy now, but it'll probably affect her balance for the rest of her life, making her a permanent fall-risk. Rye's not dealing with it well, and we're having to have some serious conversations I think he wasn't prepared for. I think this will all turn out alright in the end, but for the time being it's hard and a lot to take in for him.

The comic is... well, I wanted to have it starting to post by the end of January but obviously that didn't happen. I'd been wracking my brain trying to find a way to make the chapter work, and have only just now gotten it to a place where I decided FUCK IT and am abandoning the notion of story in this chapter. It's just gonna be a short silly romp. I still have to structure it out, and I'm a little nervous about some parts (it's just out of my wheelhouse so I'm worried about doing it right) but as of now it's officially in "re-drafting" stages. I'll probably do the initial sketches for all the pages in one go, but then start posting as they finish, instead of backlogging. That'll probably make updates erratic, but I think that's what works best for me and gets things out sooner.

I suppose that's it. Umm....yea. I've been cooking more lately, that's good. Just little things to stay sane in these crazy times. I hope everyone's doing well otherwise.
