🪐 Greetings from the surface of Saturn (G)
Getting close on the one year anniversary of when I got roped into some bullshit with my family.
Anyways, I'm still barely keeping it together. Probably gone through one of the roughest times of my life, still going through it. Falling out of doing art for weeks. Too many lows, and not enough highs.
Got into some family business thing with my family. They made an impulse move to buy assets from somebody but had no time to operate the machinery, start a business, and make money off it. So they made me in charge of it all. No prior systems set up, just rawdogging it.
The initial intent was for me to operate for 3 months to give my dad time to move to my building along with all his operations. (So we don't have to pay for two leases, this thinning out our money). But here I am, a year and 2 months in and I'm barely getting my footing.
I wanted to go with the simplest option of operating which would just be hiring me as an employee and then operating under his business. But he wanted me to operate under my own name. Which complicated paperwork, systems, and literally everything. I had no clue what any of this shit meant before coming in. Now I have to worry about serving clients and keeping the gears greased and orderly. But because we decided to go with a dumber option, trying to back peddle on that option, and retreating to some other mode of operating, things got very complicated, very fast. I had been figuratively shot in the foot multiple times by my own father just because he wanted to be a stingy idiot about a business he bought and technically owns.
So I've slowly been picking at and fixing any mistakes that might've been made. Plugging all the leaks, fixing all the messes, building all the bridges. That's not to say it hasn't been taking a toll on my body and mind. My left shoulder has a constant pain in it, my cluster headaches are back, and I've gained considerably weight from just eating convenient fast food. Consuming almost all of my time. Nothing really left for the people who I like to spend my time with.
I think I might've gotten shit from a one or two people for not being "readily available" or feeling like a zombie. I'm sorry, but I can't captain a ship and operate a forklift at the same time.
Everything is getting harder, and it's getting tougher for everyone else too.
My barometer broke in this atmosphere, what about yours?
