K&L - Kay & Luci

This is my rough draft intro for my sci-fi space themed comic I'm drawing, centered around adventures and TF shenanigans, with a space courier/freighter pilot named Kay Carrack, and an unlikely partner, an imp named Luci.

Our story begins with Kay, once an ace mercenary for a private military company, until she was used as a scapegoat for the negligent death of a client that they were hired to protect and escort. All her bounty hunting and mercenary licenses now revoked. She takes up her exorbitant earnings and risks it all to obtain a space-worthy vessel of her own, stumbling upon a suspiciously low-priced but pristine condition Data Runner ship made by Jūjigun Industries. Having a few trustworthy friends still, Kay weaseled her way into getting a courier/freighter license with ease, dodging the lifetime of bureaucracy on Taldo System's Ecumenopolis planet (e.g. like Coruscant from Star Wars): Digika. Kay names her ship "The Stygian," and takes on her first courier job, running a collection of pallets loaded with agricultural supplies, everything seemed to be going her way, as she spooled up The Stygian's quantum drive, locked in her coordinates to a new mining outpost and punched the launch button. As Kay and her ship breached through into warp, a sudden, yet subtle shake rattled The Stygian, Kay knew, that a working ship going quantum should never, ever, ever, do that. Kay locked in the autopilot parameters, so the ship would safely jump out of warp above the planet, instead of inside it. Leaving the cockpit, electron pistol in hand, Kay made her way to the cargo bay/systems room to investigate either a stow-away, an ambush, or a critical quantum drive. . .
