quiet cold fear (G)
Have said many times before that I don't have any kind of personal qualms with anyone that uses AI with transparency and as a means of self-entertainment with no intention of making money. If it's sustainable and not maliciously exploitative, go nuts. The parody of Losing My Religion with Trump was fine. Odd how I can't find that right now. Here's Iran (So Far Away) while it's still up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_h7hcK6pFs&list=RDD_h7hcK6pFs&start_radio=1
All that aside, I think my fear of being accused of using AI in my work has gotten a little worse. As an unknown, obscure writer, it's far less likely for that to happen to me, but the anxiety is there all the same. I spend a lot of time on YouTube and I've seen it happen to other people. The more realistic it becomes, the more likely others will be accused of using it, in my opinion. If I were to state that I promised to never use it, that would only sound suspicious.
Also there seems to be this subtle integration of it online, like with drafting or reading. What if some of us unknowingly read a lot of AI generated responses, and then subconsciously actual comments sound false. It could make you feel paranoid, or I think that's how I've been feeling. Is spellcheck AI or does that by some definition qualify it as AI? I use it all the time. I may even lean on it as some kind of crutch.
