Icon & Centerpiece by the incredible
Fayd. An afflicted jackal that prowls at his own somewhat alien whims. He has stalked the streets of towns with names like Layleaux and Shangrila, often keeping to himself, or the quieter, seedier parts of these locales. He is a collector, but only as it fills the time between serving his master/creator, a woman known only as The Countess, wielding an ancient source of evil in a silent war with another equally ancient force, often mistaken as a force for good.
The Countess shares/grants his affliction; A devious, sentient suit of living latex, coined Shadowstuff, which seeks to feed it own slightly perverse desires while it saps the Jackal's sense of emotion. In place of more pleasant hobbies, Fayd seeks to imprint the genetics of ever-stranger creatures into the shadowstuff's memory. Only when he cajoles The Suit into twisting his own physiology to mirror one of his collected 'Specimens' can Fayd truly emerge, The Suit unable to imprison his emotions outside of his original form.

Progress and Procedures... (G)

I am absent but not entirely idle.
I have made a few forays into TapestriesMUCK of late, but mostly to indulge in the modern-Fayd hobby of 'sample collection' -
Seek an exotic species, and offer them a night in the guise of any species they wish, with a free counterpart of their preferred gender to indulge in, for the mere cost of a sample of their own genetic code - usually in the form of a cortical sample. I believe this is a 'Fun' activity to those who receive such a deal.
Secondly, I am finding better tools with which to organize the stories of Fayd's origins, and the entire 'Ink' universe. It's gradually becoming easier as I find the narrative weaknesses to address, and I have largely solved matters of both stakes, and terminology, which lessen the burden of further work.
Expect updates. Expect them faster, if you are so kind as to show an interest in them.
