Scotiacon 2012...I write about things (G)

The plot...
Many furries do many things in a hotel in Northern Scotland. People sing, people dance, people drink. Furries are happy. The bar is happy. The staff are worn out. Everyone comes back again!
The reality...
Thursday: We got up mid-afternoon, checked in a found that people had already arrived. This resulted in a trip to the bar, where Smirnoff bought drinks and got shouted at by his bank! Jokanai started applying condiments to my crotch (as you do), and people got to know each other.
Friday: A breakfast fit for a furry! Then a chat down by the pool table with a few people, then to the pool! Jacuzzi = warm and bubbly. Swimming pool = not so warm and not bubbly. Steam room = HOT. Sauna = HOT. This was followed by registration. I got a pink badge thing, because I am clearly awesome. Went for lunch & a wander around, then to the main place for the opening cermony. Also spent a lot of time chatting to various people, and spending time (and money) in the Dealers Den. And then, I had a bath.
Saturday: People were slightly more bleary-eyed this morning. But there was no time for hangovers, as we had a good old natter down by the pool table, and then off to Eat Scotland. I ate Aberdeen, it didn't agree with me. Quick trip for lunch, and then it was time to suit up for the fursuit walk! We managed to get most of the traffic stopped in Inverness, because we are clearly more important! Thankfully, the weather held up, and we got some great photo opportunities up by the castle, before walking back through town to confuse the natives. Following that, I was then involved in the fursuit games. Very fun, very tiring, and I seemed to end up with pegs all over my tail! After a quick shower, we came down to the art auction - which was amazing as always. Some people always amaze, and this time it was Branston buying a little furry haggis, and donating loads of money to save the Scottish Wildcat in the process. After all that excitement, we could do nothing but get a Chinese, which was made difficult by the fact that we had no cutlery to eat it with, but we sneaked a couple of sets from the bar staff.
Sunday: Massive hangovers ahoy, for most of the people I saw. Especially Smirnoff. Suited up for the pool tournament, which was won by fursuiters 5-0, because fursuiters are clearly the best. We didn't cheat, because I discovered that I actually couldn't cheat. Even when I tried to knock the ball into a pocket, I missed. Then it was downstairs for the amazing Fox Amoore and friends - including Blacksnip's amazing improvised drum kit, made from boxes, totes and ice buckets. Some fantastic music, and we managed to avoid getting into Hey Jude. Though I can't sing the song from the end of Portal without now singing "Trolololololo still alive". A brief period of lots of activity, running around Inverness and...um...yeah :D, followed by it being Furryvision O'Clock! We were all pleased to see the return of Rocco and Svetlana, the inimitable hosts. And despite a few setbacks, it all went well, and there were some very talented people singing. Unfortunately, as we had to return on Monday morning, this was where I left it, as I had to go and pack (though I gather Dan returned down after to do whatever it is he does with you lot).
Monday: 7.45am, we got on a train. 4.00pm, we got off it. And then went into London, or as it should be called, HELL. I got a good top sweaty, and had to spend an extra £45 on coach tickets, as the traffic was so bad, we missed our initial one.
The verdict...
