Hello, welcome to the Emofurs FA page.

This group is dedicated to the appreciation towards the sub-genre that grew out of the ashes of the 80's Hardcore punk scene (1981 - 1984) and dissolution toward the Hardcore scene during the mid to late 80's. Typically, its roots are founded on the urge to be more experimental and introspective, a music style infused with the mid-tempo rock aesthetics of Husker Du's Zen Arcade album and the intensity of Hardcore punk. Since then it has evolved into different strains from the chaotic and complex sound of Angel Hair and Antioch Arrow to a more grounded twinkly indie rock sound that of American Football and Jets to Brazil.

Emo is most certainly not a "style" that you dawn on but a style in respect to a sound that is symbiotically tied to Hardcore punk and is definitely NOT associated with self-mutilation! Feel free to ask any questions and discuss ideas and bands related to the Emotive Hardcore sub-genre.
